MONTI launches ‘The Primary Collection’ in May, a contemporary botanical homeware brand. It took seven months of researching traditional glass cutting methods and hours of watching videos, repeatedly practicing how to cut, foil and solder before I taught myself how to work with glass. In the first four months I took part in six independent design markets, completed two international wholesale orders and had my first magazine feature in Cosmopolitan.

2016

MONTI created bespoke installations and displays for retail and jewellery partners including Liberty London, Rachel Entwistle, AQAQ, Natural History Museum, London Fashion Week and LDF. And rounded the year off with a successful Christmas pop-up in Urban Outfitters.

2017

MONTI had its first pop-up store in Shoreditch in London, launching with a big party sponsored by Bottega. It was an incredible sell-out fortnight getting to meet customers and followers face-to-face. A few months later I collaborated with Appleton Rum to teach glass cutting workshops at Wilderness Festival and private events to promote artisan techniques and small handmade businesses. Plus a lot of rum tasting!

2018

I developed ‘MONTI Bespoke Collection’, hand making unique plant stands and one-off pieces for customers across Europe, and became a master of international shipping in the process! MONTI started expanding into the wedding industry, being commissioned for tiered cake stands, card holders and glass props for the big day and photoshoots.

2019

Another first for MONTI this year - moved into a sunny studio in Hackney Wick, where I quickly set up a jungle and worked on designing new plant stands and wholesale commissions and interviewed for a feature by Wrap.

2020

I may have spent most of it inside but it only helped to push me in a new creative direction. I moved away from my original botanical homeware and began playing with the female form as a design, exploring using different colours, shapes and textures of stained glass. I had discovered a new love for using glass and launched the first ‘Girls’ collection in early December, selling out in under 20 minutes!

2021

What a year! The MONTI studio moved from the city to the seaside, I’ve launched four new collections and I’ve been able to connect with so many MONTI customers as well as taking part in the South London Makers Virtual Market selling out the collection in ten minutes! Launching in time for Christmas is MONTI’s first stained glass commission for an online exclusive product available at Selfridges.com as well as taking part in the Selfridges in-store Christmas launch event.
